The first round of the MAAA Conference Tournament is in the books. In the boys tournament, the Warriors defeated 9th seeded Fredericktown 57-41 at North County High School. They now advance to play top-seeded and undefeated Arcadia Valley Monday evening at 7 pm at Mineral Area College. Other quarterfinal match-ups are Central vs West County, Potosi vs North County, and Farmington vs Ste. Gen, who defeated Caledonia 62-59.
The Lady Warriors fell to the Arcadia Valley Lady Tigers 47-39, despite leading for much of the game. The Lady Warriors will now take on the Kingston Lady Cougars Wednesday at 4 pm at Mineral Area College in the consolation semifinals.

MAAA Seeds Out--Both Boys and Girls are Eight Seeds
The MAAA Tournament begins this Saturday (February 6) and both the Valle Catholic Warriors and Lady Warriors will enter the tournament as #8 seeds. The boys will play 9th seeded Fredericktown on Saturday at 4 pm at North County High School. A win against the Blackcats will put the Warriors in the quarterfinals against #1 seed Arcardia Valley on Monday evening at 7 pm at MAC.

Baseball Warriors Ranked #1 in Preseason Poll
The Missouri Baseball Coaches Association has released their 2010 preseason polls for all four classes. The Warriors, the defending Class 2 State Champions, will start the 2010 campaign ranked first in Class 2. Strafford, who the Warriors beat 6-2 for the State Championship last season, will be #2 in the initial poll. Plattsburg, the Warriors 2009 semifinal opponent, start #3. Clearwater, a possible quarterfinal opponent for the Warriors, hold the #4 position in the poll.

New Football Districts Released-Schedule Completed
On Friday MSHSAA released football districts for the 2010 and 2011 football seasons. The Warriors find themselves back with familiar company in Class 1 District 2. Rival St. Vincent will once again compete with the Warriors for a district title. Also joining the Warriors in District 2 are Chaffee and Cleveland NJROTC (St. Louis area).
The teams in District 1 are Cabool, Hayti, Portageville, and Thayer.
